On one of our summer trips, we took Julian to the Grand Canyon. We would talk about the time we all went when we headed back east to visit some friends, Julian was two at the time and we didn't think a two year old could make the long trip. It made him extremely upset that he never had the opportunity to go to the Grand Canyon like his brother and sister, lol...
Sure, Ju!! We'll just pack up, grab some money, put gas in the car and head over to the Grand Canyon!! NO PROBLEM!! Well the funny thing is... it almost happened just like that ;D *Only our Lord makes things happen just like that* or *Julian has a way about him that things just happen for him like that... humm*
So here we go... we pack up, get a rental, pull money out of the bank, I take two weeks off work and we head to AZ... Sadly one special element was missing out of our adventure,
Cynthia :( she had to work.
It was the first week of July and it was HOT!! We were hitting 118 degree weather and the boys were loving it... UGH.. I on the other hand was barely tolerating it, lol... but I was being very nice ;)..
Julian kept telling Sean to NOT THROW HIM OVER THE EDGE because that wouldn't be very nice... well, Julian, I agree. It wouldn't be very nice at all...
I would be very upset if your brother threw you over the edge of the Canyon!
I know that these two can fight as only brothers can do but I don't think Sean would think twice about throwing Ju over... well, maybe once but not twice ;)...
After walking for a couple hours and seeing the same Canyon (hole) from different spots Julian ask when it would be all over. And if we could be done with it all and it was enough to see and that it was VERY BEAUTIFUL. Hahaha, beautiful?? Yes, he said beautiful... "Mommy, the Grand Canyon is very beautiful (pause) can we go back to the cabin now??"
*SHWEEEETness*
Ju, got what he wanted, saw what his bother and sister seen many years ago, experienced it for himself, walked some of the grounds and seen the IMAX movie. He was done and ready to go...
He Learned: How many Wild Things lived in the Canyon, how it became a National Park, how big the Grand Canyon is, and that the Colorado River runs thru the Canyon and why there are rapids in the river
In his own way he had fun EXPLORING the Grand Canyon National Park.
and I'm so glad we took him to it with Sean and I'm so glad Sean didn't think TWICE about throwing him over the edge.
*Thank the Lord for small miracles*
